ONE CANADA SQUARE
LEVEL 30

Client: Canary Wharf Group

Period: April 2021 to July 2021

Level 30 of One Canada Square is the executive floor for Canary Wharf Group (CWG). Following the success of Level 31, Travill Construction was approached to refurbish half a floor (7,000 square foot) including demolition, raised access flooring, partitioning, new SAS Alugrid suspended ceilings, tape and jointing and decorating. The project was carried out in a live office environment and had to be split into three phases to ensure CWG employees could continue to operate at their headquarters. The scope of works included building four large meeting rooms, eight quiet rooms, a breakout area, “chill out” space and 74 desk spaces. The revised layout and additional desk capacity will ensure CWG staff have the necessary space to social distance upon their return to work. During the course of the project we had to adapt to challenging access requirements and changing work hours. We also had to pull off site for over two weeks due to COVID-19 notifications in line with government guidance. In spite of these setbacks we worked day and night to deliver the project within the programme and on budget.

CHELSEA & WESTMINSTER HOSPITAL
CHELSEA WING

Client: Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust 


Phase 1 Period: June 2020 to July 2020

        Phase 2 Period: February 2021 to April 2021

The Chelsea Wing is the private wing of the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Due to budgeting constraints Phase 1 focused on refurbishing the main reception, nurses station, two ensuite bedrooms, four clinical rooms and the private patients' passenger lift. The project had to be fully delivered within two weeks in a live hospital environment which presented numerous logistical challenges. Despite this, Travill Construction was able to complete the project on time and within budget without compromising the operation of the wing. Phase 2 of the refurbishment was significantly larger than Phase 1 and got under way in February 2021. After the precise and efficient delivery of Phase 1, Travill Construction was appointed to renovate a further eight ensuite bedrooms as well as some offices and the remaining corridor areas.

ONE CANADA SQUARE
LEVEL 31

Client: Canary Wharf Group

Period: September 2020 to January 2021

Travill Construction was tasked with a 15,000 square foot refurbishment contract on the 31st floor of One Canada Square. This floor had been used as a marketing suite for one of Canary Wharf's residential towers but had since become redundant. The Group wanted to transform the space back into an office floor to be tenanted by their contracting business; Canary Wharf Contractors. The project included the fit out of meeting rooms, print rooms, quiet rooms, open plan desk areas, kitchens, shower units and bathrooms. The construction phase plan was originally 20 weeks but we were delighted to complete a month ahead of schedule as a result of efficient delivery and slick supply chain management. The architect and client were so happy with the quality of work and attitude of Travill Construction's operatives that they have already requested we quote for two further refurb projects. We look forward to building a long lasting relationship with Canary Wharf Group.

BRIXTON HOUSE RECORDING STUDIOS

Client: Ten87 Studios

Period: TBC

Ten87 Studios provide creative workspace and associated facilities for recording artists and music labels. They operate over 40 long term let recording studios in North London. The business is now looking to expand to South London securing space in the basement of the Brixton House development which will house the new Ovalhouse Theatre on the ground floor and Lambeth Council offices on the upper floors. The architectural plans are currently being finalised with a view to build and fit out 30 individual recording studios. Travill Construction look forward to working alongside Ten87 Studios to help them grow their business South of the river.
